From the last post with the chicken done and put aside opened a bag of frozen straight cut chips and tossed into the basket about half the bag. Temp 120° for 20mins and off we go again.
The chips cooked nicely just right on the inside and crispy outside 
Steamer glass cover is lost ?
Somehow during the Mackenzie clan Christmas festivities the glass cover for our steamer went missing. A pity…that’s been with us for like 40 years.

Al’s Kitchen – Peri Peri Chicken
This week I’ve come up with something that’s easy to prepare, cook and tastes really yummy using Spencers Peri Peri Chicken mix.
Buy a pack of chicken wings/drumettes and arrange in a suitable oven dish. Dust all the pieces on both sides with the peri peri mix, cover with glad wrap and pop into fridge for a few hours (or overnight).
I did mine late morning and removed from fridge around five for baking dish to come down to room temp – safe to put into hot oven.
Bunnings shopping trip
Wanted to spend my 70th birthday Bunnings gift cards (pooled) on a Ozito Multi Purpose Saw and also get a 30cm wooden barrel to repair the Bamboo Water Spout feature in the gazebo area.
Unplanned purchase – this is the BBQ Pizza Oven Box we bought from Bunnings today. They had a staff person giving cooking demonstrations and ET managed to sample TWO slices of pizza

Searching for pappadums
From last year been trying to find something to replace Globe’s pappadums, been through many trial packets/box’s and finally settled on Mother’s Madras Pappadum.
Bought 10 packets today from Quality Groceries in Glen Waverley – they microwave well but pan fry not as good as Globe’s.
