Prowling cats White Legs is back-
Last day (or morning) of last month was the last time White Legs paid us a visit in the back yard. Don’t know the entry point but once again the exit was over the fence by the post box. Interesting that WL has not been prowling the back yard since being intercepted by my Garden Sentry and hit with water a few times.

Prowling cats – Update
No prowling cats this morning so all setup again for tomorrow morning. Expected activity timeline (if any) 1.00am – 4.00am.
In the last related post I mentioned it looks like a Nat Geo wildlife camera.
Also looks like a speed camera :-)
Prowling cat
Houston we have a problem!
Not one but two cats prowling our property in all hours of the morning. Even worse one of them was stalking Speckles – yesterday afternoon!
Motion Sprinkler update
Was in Bunnings the other day and something reminded me of this 2016 project gathering dust under a workbench.
The basic concept is if you have a problem with unwelcome visitors (daytime/nocturnal…anytime) this is for you. Originally I came up with this idea to solve a particular problem, to keep a daytime prowling cat out of the backyard that was stalking our chooks. After I do a review of this with some costing I’ll put it up on Al’s Workshop – see what happens.

On the left is a water solenoid and to the right the control box. I’ll do another post explaining how this works along with a demo in the backyard.
Motion Sprinkler – Part 5
A bit of a rest after house cleaning and then off to the garage to make final preparations for water testing the unit.
Found some click-on barbs at Bunnings so I’ll change the plain barb on the left for one of those – like on the right.
Motion Sprinkler – Part 4
After the failure of the water solenoid pictured here managed to swap for a larger one.
Motion Sprinkler – Part 3
Motion Sprinkler – Part 2
Off to the garage to do some more thinking and planning…
Found a more suitable US Robotics modem (remember them) 20V AC power adaptor so cracked open the case to pull out the actual transformer.

Our Chooks and prowling Cat
We have a cat coming over the back fence stalking our chooks. I have put up some stop-gap wire and since then have not actually seen the bloody thing in the backyard. Still it’s a big worry so we need to do more to strengthen and monitor the perimeter:
1) Put up more fencing
2) Install CCTV cameras
3) Buy or make a Motion Activated Sprinkler
