Front border shrubs – overdue

Due to my left eye saga which started December 2023 we are way behind with garden duties. Still recovering from DMEK surgery but reached that point where I am allowed to resume normal duties.
Note – I would normally (but not possible this time) use my pole trimmer and lopper (see last photos)

Fan cat scarer

This is a quick temporary solution to deter prowling cats. The actual Cat Scarer is back in the workshop waiting for a smaller motor to be delivered because the present motor is from a hand vac cleaner is a over kill and (even with short duty cycle) draws to much from the AGM 12V / 3.7A battery.

Eyes – Left eye update good news

Left eye update – good news 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
At my last check-up one month ago I was about 2 weeks into the 6 – 8 week DMEK recovery period. Had another check-up today and we are done with the left eyeball :-) I do have one more to-be-sure check 9th December – yay.
After that I’ll be off for the usual eye test to get a reading lens (opted distance lens) for one of my frames.

Drop schedules have changed – for the better.
I was taking Prednefrin Forte 8 times a day and Chlorsig 4 times a day. I now only have to continue with Prednefrin Forte, Chlorsig not needed any more; That is/was for infection control which mitigates donor rejection.

My next post will be titled ‘Amazon Alexa Drop Reminder’.
Feeling good and looking good… I’ll be back.

Alexa Eyedrops Reminder

The reminders use eight Routines with the following schedule:

9am double drop
11am single drop
1pm double drop
3pm single drop
5pm double drop
7pm single drop
9pm double drop
11pm single drop

I mentioned in my last ‘happy’ post that after my check-up today the 4 hour one is not needed anymore (begone) so I am going through the 4 double-drop routines to change them from 2 to 1 drop.

Google TV Streamer

Arrived yesterday and with no further delay this afternoon unpacked and  hooked up with the OTG cable and 4-port hub plus mouse and keyboard.

The streamer includes a smart hub (Google Home) and while I was setting up the apps it went out on the network and sniffed out all the devices and registered them with Google Home.

Amazon Alexa Users Group

I just joined the Amazon Alexa Users Group and this is my first introductory post-

I am new here and thanks for opening the forum door :-)
I am a retired tech guy from Melbourne Australia and like most people started in the usual way adding smart lights and sockets but over the last few years I have taken the home automation thing outside – into the yard.
I have a nice workshop and besides wood working I do other stuff like electrical and electronics and enjoy designing and making something from thoughts transferred to a paper sketch.

Eyes DMEK recovery

With regard to my previous eyeball post ‘This morning the world around me looks better – and brighter’ DMEK recovery is progressing well, distance vision is good and hoping there will be further improvement considering I am in the early stages of the 6 – 8 week recovery period. Close up is still a bit blurred but really concerned about that because I did opt for a distance lens.
My prescription reading glasses are of course now useless so what can we do about that? This morning while shopping decided to go looking for those el-cheapo reading glasses and ended up at the Reject Shop. I selected three glasses, 1.5, 2.5 & 3.0 to give me the best chance to see the computer screen (and keyboard) at 1/2 metre distance and yep… the 2.5 pair works well. After 10 months of not being able to use a soldering iron I can once again tin the stripped ends of insulated wire with the 3.0 pair. The 1.5 works well on workshop power tools mitre saws, band saws and table saw.
