Transferring thoughts to paper about designing and building a Alexa compatible mailbox delivery system that will raise a delivery flag when mail is delivered and then send a announcement. The system will also incorporate a mailbox camera.
In the US they have a different system where USPS, besides delivering mail will also stop to collect mail if the mailbox flag is raised – good service.
Thinking about what I need to get started on this project based on this concept:
Contact switch or sensor to detect when the mailbox door flap is pushed open which triggers a switch to raise the delivery flag via a mechanical device.
