First outing with the saw and eager to try it out.
After only three cuts the chain came off and yes… was correctly tensioned and cutting at 90 degrees (not angled).
After struggling for a while could not get the chain to slot into the bar because two opposite sections of teeth were ‘burred’ when the chain came off the bar – not a good start!
Good thing I had the foresight to order a spare chain from my fav tool supplier – TOOLSTORM.
That’s the Ryobi chain in the photo, after 3 cuts it’s a bin job and I will be having a chat with Ryobi.
While lopping the 2nd lot the TOOLSTORM chain came off the bar and I had no issues to get it quickly back onto the bar and tensioned – no burring.
I conclude that the supplied Ryobi chain is bloody poor quality.
Up next tomorrow is the Hibiscus.
I’ll be back…
