Back from Bunnings with the irrigation fittings I need so we can now start building the low voltage motion activated sprinkler.

Garden Sentry 12V Version – Part 1
The 12V irrigation solenoid has arrived so together with the 12V PIR sensor we can now start construction! This unit will guard the front yard from prowling cats.
Interesting to note that the prowlers have avoided the back yard after being water blasted with the other (original) Garden Sentry.
PIR Sensor for pest repellent devices
PIR Sensor for R&D of pest repellent devices-
Maybe directly control a irrigation solenoid or via a LDR control board. More to come…

PIR Sensor – Part 3
In Part 2 we determined the switched sensor output could handle @ 12V a current load up to 4 amps. Not sure about that? more research (is possible) is needed.
Having said that the 12V irrigation solenoid (still waiting for delivery) is rated @ 0.3A or 300mA. Anyway for the sake of fiddling I want to hang a relay off the sensor output so went looking for one.

PIR Sensor – Part 1
Off to the workshop to play with the PIR sensor that was delivered this morning. Still waiting on the irrigation solenoid.
Prowling cat – White Legs is back
Prowling cats White Legs is back-
Last day (or morning) of last month was the last time White Legs paid us a visit in the back yard. Don’t know the entry point but once again the exit was over the fence by the post box. Interesting that WL has not been prowling the back yard since being intercepted by my Garden Sentry and hit with water a few times.
