Why not use a store bought frame ?
Rather than making my own base board for these projects why not buy some picture frames! A4 wooden ones cost around $10 bucks.

Samoyed night light – part 9
Hot glued the LED’s and stained the stand.
A dab of glue on the four standoff’s will fix the doggie to the base board.

Made a base and provision to wall hang.
Found a bit of plywood the right so cleaned it up on disc & belt sander. Here I measured and marked so the frame is centered on the stand and used some scrap wood with clamps to fix the location so I can turn it over to put in the screws.
