Table saw – Mini crosscut sled

During construction of the bandsaw (and other stuff around the workshop) I had need to cut small parts, to small and to dangerous for the big 12″ sliding mitre saw, so I just made a small crosscut sled for the table saw.

1
The base and tracks are laminate flooring with front & back from pine.

2
I need to make a blade guard for the front of the sled and also limit how far it can be pushed forward.

3
I was going to make the guard from this pine offcut but decided to use a larger bit of pine.

4
Found a bit of pine for the blade guard and note the two laminate strips at the end of the tracks to limit forward travel.

5
Talcum power is always handy in the workshop.

6
Closer view of the stop strips so the sled can’t be inadvertently pushed right through the saw blade!
