Replacing Rotten Weatherboards – 6

A nicer cooler day to finish this job. Last board is up and first coat is done so in for a coffee now then back out for the second coat and we are done.

Here you can see how I tacked on the bords after marking the stud centers.

This is the ALDI WorkZone cordless sliding miter saw that I got from Knox for $49 bucks – down from $149.










Needs the 4A battery, I have two of them for this and two drills.

This is what I needed for the job:
Pry bar for removing the boards, round nose nail puller and large side cutters for removing all the left behind nails.
Packet of 2.8 x 50mm galvanised flat head nails. Make sure to drill pilot holes to prevent splitting.

 

 

 

With 3.0M boards and only one pair of hands I came up with the idea to tack one end with 25mm narrow head staples while the other end was propped on a bit of timber cut to assist with the correct board location.
