14” Bandsaw – motor for saw

This is the motor I will be using, a 1200W unit from a ALDI Gardenline water pump. Last time I made my our wooden pulley which never ran as true as I would have liked so this time I bought a $20 pulley from Conon Motors in Glen Waverley.

I would love to buy one of their motors as well but a 1.5HP 4 pole is around $200 dollars.

New project – 14” Bandsaw

Just finished the 8” bandsaw and decided to build another 14″ bandsaw to replace the one lost in the shed fire that took around 7 months to build. I will be using the 8″ bandsaw (see previous posts) to build this one. To get started went looking for and found enough Melamine particleboard (16mm) to cut 4 x 14″ discs which will make 2 wheels each 32mm wide – more on this later.

We need to cut 4 of these on the mini band saw so start by trimming them on the table saw.
