New printer purchase
Just came home with a new printer from Officeworks for $196 bucks.
This is to replace a Brother MFC which would not print black – blocked.
I managed to get black working but decided to get the Canon anyway.

Horse rugs to clean
More rugs left on the front porch for my attention. Someone forgot to tell Elvis (TB) that it’s winter and he decided to cool off in the dam.

The usual setup: pour some laundry liquid soap into the detergent dispenser and top up with water. Attach dispenser to the gun and soap up the rug, switch to lance and slowly work across and down. But we have a problem, the motor ran for a few seconds and stopped! Took some time to work out that the detergent nozzle was blocked? so we had to carry on without it. The dispenser is handy so I need to try and unblock the nozzle. |
Looks filthy but it’s only dam mud.
Inside is done, turn over and now do the outside. Hang out to dry.
The boy was wearing three rugs, above is the doona also very muddy. May as well do the Camry.

Tour of horse agistment
The horses are tended too every day…twice a day morning and evening.
Above: This is our shed, it’s like shed city around here.

We have another storage area here for hay and feed.
Many years ago this was a shower and change room for cattle workers, you can see the shower recess on the left.
It’s also home for one of the barn cats.
The ducks know the sound of the car and come running. They are so noisy.
The chook is the only one left, lost all her mates to foxes’, she has no choice but to stick with the ducks.
I don’t know what it is? If it had wheels I think it would beat a WRX.
Dusty (Australian pony) having breakfast.
She gets a small amount of feed and three hay nets refilled – twice a day. Why?…see below.
This is her yard – she is confined most of the day and let out in the evenings to graze for a while.
She is a diabetic horse and would suffer from a condition known as recurring laminitis (the hoofs) without proper care.

New front gates
Another job at the kid’s place in Rowville, the gates are falling apart and Shyla the long haired German shepherd could go walkabout.
Each gate is a steel frame with fairly heavy boards that were rotting.
After a bit of thought we decided to replace then with regular fence palings (the wider ones) and secure with zinc plated self drilling hex head screws – phew.
I didn’t take any pictures of the job but here is the completed project.
