Chooks coop heater – some modifications.

Due to some very cold nights I’ve been swapping between the regular 75W ceramic heat emitter and the larger 250W one. Currently that’s a PIA cos I have to take out 2 screws to remove the top cover – time to fix that.

To change the heat emitter (lamp) I have to remove two screws and take off the top.

Balcony floor

Many years ago we decided to close in the open front balcony and the cement sheet floor was covered with cheap carpet.
In Feb 2006 we decided to give the balcony a facelift with some paint and a new floor.
 
    
 
Above: Lay down the foam, start from one end of course, use spacers around edges to allow for expansion.

 

 
   
 
Above: This is hard on the knees and back. Hot weather and dripping sweat, drink water…keep going.
 
 
   
 
Above: Trim the edges, measure and cut 45’s is fiddly stuff. Clean up, vac and mop and job done – not quite!
 
 
Now move everything back where it came from. Amazing how much you can fit into a small space.
