Toyota Camry reversing camera & rear shelf camera – Part 1

Yesterday we repaired the Mitsubishi Lancer Rear View Camera Mirror. Today we are working on the 1991 ‘Blue Limo’, installing a number plate reversing camera and a rear parcel shelf camera.

This is going to take 2 or 3 sessions over a couple of days.

Remove the number plate.

We will have to drill a hole and with that bit of info stored in the err… brain we won’t return here until much later in the job.

Remove the seats.

That’s the reversing camera video cable.

Removed the rear drivers door sill trim, the drivers sill trim and the drivers right footwell kick panel.

Using a thin strip of wood to feed the cable through.

Keep going…

Now we have to maneuver into the footwell – ouch.

Ran the cable through and replaced the kick panel. Need to rest the whole body now for a few minutes.

That is the cable for the dashcam.

Start replacing the sill trims.

Drivers done now the same for the drivers passenger sill trim.

Same as before.

Put the seats back… bugger of a job.

Down tools and start tidying up, have a rest and then the woolly mammoth will get a kitchen haircut.

Back tomorrow…
