Pondering which way to go with this, on the first 14” saw went for the hinged motor mount with a threaded rod for belt tension. From memory there was some shaking, likely belt bounce. With the 8” saw the motor sat on the bottom of the base box in mitre slides with the threaded tension going through the side of the box.

OK…will use the hinged setup.

Motor will also need to move front-to-back for V-belt alignment.
