Was in Bunnings the other day and something reminded me of this 2016 project gathering dust under a workbench.
The basic concept is if you have a problem with unwelcome visitors (daytime/nocturnal…anytime) this is for you. Originally I came up with this idea to solve a particular problem, to keep a daytime prowling cat out of the backyard that was stalking our chooks. After I do a review of this with some costing I’ll put it up on Al’s Workshop – see what happens.

On the left is a water solenoid and to the right the control box. I’ll do another post explaining how this works along with a demo in the backyard.

This is the control box with the PIR security sensor that when activated triggers the water solenoid for a short period turning on the impact sprinkler.

This is the irrigation 24V water solenoid. The garden hose connects to one end and another shorted hose connects to the impact sprinkler

This is good timing; impact sprinkles from Bunnings for 20 cents each ![]()
