From the last session I was going make a knob for the blade tracking threaded rod but decided to install the front mounted NVR power switch and wire up the saw motor etc..

Was using a lighting line switch to turn on the motor, or use the power board switch.![]()
Got this roll of solid core cable from Masters for $2.00. Bought two NVR switches in the first half of last year – finally using one.

I’m mounting the switch on the main vertical support above the stress/load point of the horizontal support arm that carries all the weight of the upper components; wheel, wheel mount assembly and blade guide arm. Traced out and drilled corner pilot holes.

Multifunction tool is a must for this sort of work.

Work slowly with this type of tool, blade not deep enough so had to continue at the back.

To get the block out had to finish with a chisel. Ended up a fraction to wide but that’s fine, I’ll make a escutcheon so it’s looks neat & tidy.

Switch has spade terminal connectors but the are smaller than the standard auto type – bugger.

Discovered I could squeeze a bullet one for a nice fit onto the spade terminal. Crimped on a pair of bullets and measured off back to the the terminal block – cut the cable.

Made another one and next session will run them down to the base box. Note: the NVR switch (No Volt Release) is a double pole switch hence the two sets of cables. There’s nowhere for the earths as the whole saw is made of wood – just cut them off.
