Picking up from where I left this morning…

…we will continue with the ‘leaf spring’.

Marked the centre and after clamping to the bench drill table bored a 20mm hole with a  Forstner bit.

Clamping up to drill overside holes for the intended Torx screws as the ‘leaf spring’ needs to flex.

More clamping after adding the laminate spacer to the bottom of the stack and run the drill bit right through again.

Now we can align and clamp to the top of the wheel block assembly.

Another clamp across the whole thing to square the ends.

Standing on a two step stool particular attention is paid to make sure the tension rod is centered in the hole.

Torx screws in but sitting just proud so the ‘leaf spring’ can flex.

Next job is to make the crank handle.

Then I can move to the back and make a knob for the blade tracking rod.
