From Part 2 the feeder is ready for testing but let’s make it more portable and add a battery.
I have CCTV 12V plugs to bare ends so need a couple of spade connectors.
These days I have problems just holding and seeing my phone so the clips are pretty shabby.
We finished Part 1 with making a cover frame and mounting the servo motor.

Suitable for use in the chook run where there is 240V power for the 12V power supply or powered from 12V SLA battery for controlled feed sessions the yard or further out within wi-fi range. The feeder is controlled with the Smart Life app in conjunction with Amazon Alexa. For example to remotely open the feeder ‘Alexa… Open Chicken Feeder’. You can also press the button on the feeder itself to manually open & close.
Repurposing: I am using timber from a previous project.
Components are sitting on two fence palings that I dressed in the planer/jointer machine. Thinking… shuffling things around.
From earlier this year I’ve been looking at that… yeah must get onto that.
Overdue to the point where trimming and pruning was impossible so had to revert to lopping!
Replaced the fence paling that was on the outside with some nice dressed 90mm pine.
