Eyes – Manningham Re-bubble

This morning the world around me looks better – and brighter.
Last Wednesday I had to have a re-bubble at Manningham Private Hospital because the donor graft had detached at the bottom of the cornea. This time around she (my eye doc) used air instead of gas and the results are much more encouraging. Under specific subdued daytime lighting conditions I can actually see the air bubble and it wobbles like jelly.
At night when I trigger a motion sensor night light the left eyeball lights up like Luna Park. What i see is a engolated spider web with the centre circle midpoint between middle and bottom of eye, brightly illuminated by the incoming light refracting off the bubble surface and again off the air particles. Crikey… it’s like a religious event wave the hands and chant.

Google TV Streamer

I have been using Amazon hardware for a while now; Firesticks, Echo Show and lately the Cube. The Amazon devices are great for streaming and even doing the home automation thing with Alexa but.. Google prevents the Fire Cube accessing PlayStore!

For example I purchased FX File Explorer which is not available on the (useless) Amazon app store, side loading gets you nowhere because I can’t upgrade to the paid version and the same for other purchased apps so that’s the main reason I am purchasing the Google TV Streamer to replace the Fire Cube in the lounge. Fortunately all the devices I have purchased are both Amazon and Google compatible.

Cordless stick vac repairs – 3

Third attempt at repairing the cordless stick vac-
First go was good until I propped the vac against the stairs hand rail and too slow to grab it when it slid off onto the floor!

Second go to epoxy failed because the mix ratio was incorrect due to one nozzle slightly blocked and did not notice that with the stuffed left eyeball.

This time we should be good… checked the epoxy mix, plastered on plenty with a paddle pop stick the held together for five minutes with large rubber bands and then double cable tied.

Crazy winds yesterday!

Crazy wind yesterday actually moved the big burner BBQ (on castors) towards my car where it toppled over ono the front of the car. Fortunately no damage done because all the gardening stuff stacked in front of the BBQ acted as a buffer.

Ruby and Rosie taken by fox

On Monday 19th around midday Ruby and Rosie were taken by a fox in the backyard!
We are of course devastated and made the decision to quit the backyard chook thing and after 20 years I no longer will have feathered backyard companions. Like it or not I’ll have to prune the roses – alone.

Autofill/Recycle Bird Bath cleaning

Eye surgery recovery is going well and I am now up and about doing light duties and the chooks are happy to have me out in the yard again. Spent yesterday afternoon cleaning the birdbath as well as some minor repairs.

Lots of weeds so removed everything and got to work with the weeding tool and this time using a old BBQ plate to provide a solid base where previously the bath base just sat on the dirt and I used pieces of plywood for getting thins level.
