Replacing all the Bunnings XU1 cordless garden tools with Ryobi and happy to say they will be passed onto a family member and after 9 years (with my care) they are still in good working condition. There are 4 batteries, two are good and the other two need repair which is what we are doing this afternoon.

18V battery packs use 5 x 18650 @ 3.6V each (5 x 3.6 = 18).

I measured all the cells and the first one on the left reads 3.1 volts so we will replace that one.

Went through my box of used spares and soon found a good replacement.

With that done better check that it still fits in the case.

All OK so we can replace the bottom cover and check it out – fingers crossed.

That looks very promising, the controller which individually monitors all the cells has determined the other four have good charge and will focus on charging the replacement cell.
