Eye surgery recovery is going well and I am now up and about doing light duties and the chooks are happy to have me out in the yard again. Spent yesterday afternoon cleaning the birdbath as well as some minor repairs.
Lots of weeds so removed everything and got to work with the weeding tool and this time using a old BBQ plate to provide a solid base where previously the bath base just sat on the dirt and I used pieces of plywood for getting thins level.
Moving the bird bath requires removing both the inlet and outlet ploy tubing and while doing the latter I broke the outlet connector!

Going through some of my irrigation stuff and found a spare one! must remember to buy some more from Bunnings.

Broken one bottom of picture, let’s go out and install the replacement.
With that done we can start levelling the bird bath.
To prevent overflowing the bath need to be angled down a bit towards the water outlet. Spirit level position here is simply bubble centered.
Here we are setting for a fall towards the outlet.
Filling with water to check the angles are correct. We will come back to this.
Checking the water reservoir which was used to feed the horses.
The main component of the float level is a empty air freshener can and yes… I collect the empty ones.
Back to check how the water is draining.
