Turning fence palings into dressed timber with the ALDI WorkZone Planer/Thicknesser.

Dressed pine timber is expensive – very expensive. Wherever I can I use cheap fence palings for my projects and… if needed (like here) I can dress my own timber.

The machine has two configurations – planer and thicknesser. We are setup for the latter here to smooth the paling faces.

This is the exit side, the machine grips and pulls the board through.

After initial adjustment of the yellow thicknesser knob the timber is fed in here – into the table

This is how the dust extractor is setup for thicknesser mode. For planer mode this is removed and inserted into the machine at the other end. More on this to come.

This is the plumbing setup to interface the big extractor outlet to the workshop vac hose – lol
