Using the old sawhorse for bundling branches was too much for it in the end; the poor thing ended up lame. Oh well…we have another lock down project
No point reinventing the wheel, let’s use the leg that broke off to transfer some measurements.
Cut a 2.7m length of pine into four pieces on the 12″ mitre saw.
Now to transfer some of the measurements.
Marked up an off-cut to setup for the compound mitre cuts.
Setup the compound angle, clamp the test block and make the cut – it’s good.
Setting the cordless 8″ mitre saw for the compound cut.
Not how I have nicked below the line; this will provide a glue channel later on when the leg is glued and screwed to the main plank resulting in a stronger bond.
Transfer the angle using a Sliding T bevel.
With all four marked we can make the cuts.
That’s the first one done.
Enough for this session. I’ll be back tomorrow to make the other bevel cut.
