Garden pond pump is kaput!

Lasted six years so no complaints but…not happy about the replacement cost

Price of the AQUAPRO AP1050 Waterfeature Pond Pump has increased 25% now $54.45

Remove some stuff from the left back corner so I can pull through the power cable.

2The impeller dose not kick when power is turned on…hmm.

Comes with a nice long power lead.

Pulled the impeller out and it’s clean – no blockage.

Off to the workshop to do some more testing.

We are reading continuity and these pond pumps should have a reading of a few Kohms (2K to 3K)

With the meter set on x100 – nothing – looks like it’s OC (open circuit)

I turned 73 last week so let’s check my memory by taking a reading on another Aquapro pond pump. This one is the next size down that is used in the bamboo water spout that is also getting it’s annual cleanout. That reading is 2.29K ohms so my memory on this occasion is OK. Off to Bunnings to buy a replacement pond pump.
