After having a play with the machine just running a couple of pieces of timber through thicknesser made a mess. We need to rig up some dust extraction.

The extraction port is 100mm; that’s big !!!…so came up with this solution.
Stormwater U bend push fit into the extractor port.
Lolly tin cover with inside cut out for dog food tin – soldered.
Sink 90 degree plumbing fitting with vacuum hose push fit.

Hook up to my smaller Ozito shop vac.

I haver a pile of this meranti timber scavenged off someone’s hard rubbish – ran some through the thicknesser.

I’ll do the rest tomorrow and then setup to plane the edges.

This thing make a lot of noise like around 100db so best to use ear protection.

Went though a few ideas to come up with something…

To try it out for the first time I ran two strips of wood through the thicknesser – look at the mess.
