Router jig for freestanding night light base.

From now on I’ll cut a decorative corner edge on the base of the stand type night light. This stuff is tricky on small workpieces so we need to work out a procedure that can be replicated.

Here are the basic parts for the stand type night light with the base at the bottom of the photo.
Looks like this.
We’ll use the Roman Ogee router bit in the Ozito 350W Laminate Trimmer (trim router).

Having a practice on a bit of scrap pine. The problem is holding the thing down while leaving all the sides clear for the router to travel around the edges..
We can hold that with a couple of screws from the bottom.
Ready to run the router around the top edge.
Happy with that.
May as well do another one for the next order.
Just put in a new blade – nice.
Refining this into a proper jig with two location rails.
Just insert the pine base, locate centre hold turn over and put in the two screws. No ends allows for a longer base.
Ready for the router.
