Meadowbrook Mansion – replacing rotten weather boards (part 4)

Why am I doing home repairs on Christmas day ???
We do Christmas eve and yes, yesterday was a busy day in the kitchen prepping for dinner with family and friends.

Setting up the work site.

First thing to to paint the top edge of the boards.

With that done we can go up and start removing the old boards.

That took longer that I estimated because of the shutters in particular the top where the bottom of the shutter frame covered the top board.

We are ready for the bottom board.

Need to cleanout the window ledge before I fit the bottom board.

Bottom board is in, I used blocks of wood to space off the bottom and the Ozito bradder/staple gun to tack the board at either end with 25mm staples then put in the 50mm gal nails.

Measure and trim the 3rd board before putting up the 2nd one.

I’ll be back tomorrow…
