From the last session we left off at this point with the lights mounted on a plywood board.

A mate was throwing out four of these damaged marquee poles so I grabbed them. Was sure at the time they would be handy for something. I’ll try one as a light stand, basically the inner square tube slides inside the outer one and it’s height adjustable.

Fixing a ALDI bracket to the top in the inside one.

Secured the bottom with brackets to a MDF base which in turn is screwed to a garden paver.

Now we need to mount the light board onto the bracket.

Came up with the idea to use some 25mm dowel to make the connection between lamp board and the stand bracket. Cut the dowel down the centre to the width of the board. The other half will sit nicely inside the bracket channel.

Made a split clamp block to secure the dowel to the lamp bracket. The lights can pivot either way for more light to the left or right. The light stand will be located between my two mitre saws.

Next session I will move it down to the front and wire up a power board.
