Also got this TP-LINK 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender (TL-WA850RE)  for the ALDI Maginon IP Security Camera. Patched the desktop directly to the unit for setup to connect (extend) to the upstairs Wi-Fi which is the previous Bigpond Netgear CGD24N cable router. Then went into the Maginon setup to switch over to the TP-Link – all good.
