AWA 37″ MHDV3720-O3 Full HD LCD purchased from BigW for $378.

The new 37” LCD replaces the Panasonic 26″ CRT still in perfect working order.

The 37” LCD is a nice fit in the corner. The problem with all flat screens is that you can’t put your pictures and ornaments on the top of them! I’m pondering about making a shelf (gloss black) that sits flush with the top back edge of the TV. The package contents includes screws for a wall bracket (VESA mount) so I could fashion two brackets to support the shelf and fix using the top two mounting holes.

The picture above of Meg Ryan is not from the TV itself; the source is AV2, a 2.4Gh wireless AV receiver transmitting Foxtel IQ (composite AV) from the lounge room. The TV in the kitchen/meals area also has a receiver for watching Foxtel.

The AWA LCD was easy to setup and everything functions smoothly, watching 1080i broadcasts the picture quality for a TV in this price bracket is impressive. Also connected to the TV on HDMI 1 is a AKAI STB which I reset from 525 (Component on the Panasonic CRT) to 1080i and again the picture quality is very good.
